Duties

Combine your passion for storytelling with your strong writing and editing skills to develop engaging content for Parks Canada’s website and social media channels.

Develop and implement social media strategies, including several online campaigns, aimed at promoting and nurturing the online presence of Parks Canada’s programs in Halifax.

Encourage dialogue with our audiences about our special places on themes of camping, nature, wildlife, history, geography and conservation through Facebook and Twitter.

Monitor online interactions and gather analytics to support the direction of Parks Canada’s social media channels.

Parks Canada is seeking a highly creative and motivated individual to join our dynamic communications team this summer as a Web & Social Media Student. Based in Halifax, you will work with colleagues across Mainland Nova Scotia to connect diverse urban audiences with Canada’s National parks and historic sites.

Successful students will work for approximately 16 to 18 weeks between May and August, 2018.
Positions require students to work variable hours, shift-work, weekends, and holidays, in addition to working in diverse of weather conditions.
