Cashier – Walmart

A Cashier scans and bags customer purchases, processing various forms of payment for goods and services, and promotes signing up and use of the Wal-Mart MasterCard.

Position Responsibilities

• Practicing the 3 meter Attitude. • Greeting all Customers with a warm, friendly smile. • Ensuring each Customer receives a friendly, accurate and professional service. • Following the “One Best Way” standards of practice. • Operating a cash register by scanning items across an electronic scanner to record price, compile printed list, and display cost of the Customer’s purchase, tax, and rebates on the monitor screen. • Assisting Customers with the bagging and loading of their merchandise. • Informing all customers about the Wal-Mart Rewards MasterCard and processing applications. • Promoting company sponsor programs, i.e., credit card service, product protection and charity initiatives, when applicable. • Moving to the outside/front of the register, when possible, to greet the next Customer. • Accepting all forms of Customer payment according to company guidelines. • Correctly counting back change to the Customer to prevent cash overages and shortages. • Making change, cashing cheques, and issuing receipts to Customers. • Scanning merchandise quickly and accurately. • Achieving the “Item Per Hour” goal. • Achieving the “Scanning” Percentage goal. Additional Responsibilities • Adheres to all company policies and standard operating procedures. • Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Labourer – Oilfield, Alberta

AECOM is seeking local Labourers to be based in our Wainwright and Lloydminster, Alberta locations.

This position will assist operators and perform a wide range of tasks at sites.

May include the following responsibilities:
+ Loading, unloading, waste material from tanks.

+ Spotting for heavy equipment (Guiding movement in and around work areas)

+ Cleaning of AECOM vehicles and/or equipment

+ Identify and mitigate safety hazards.

+ Ensure that all training is kept current.

+ Understand and utilize the right and responsibility to stop unsafe work.

Shift is 5 days on 2 days off. Local job opportunity – no LOA/Sub provided.

Job Summary
You are a hard working team player with previous experience as a labourer. You will be working with our Highway Construction crew throughout Alberta either on the road or in the asphalt plant.

  • Performs various highway construction tasks including raking, shoveling, unloading trucks and small maintenance tasks
  • Assists with traffic control procedures
  • May perform other related duties as assigned


  • Previous labour experience within a highways setting is an advantage
  • Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Must possess a valid RSTS (Roadbuilders Safety Training System) certification
  • Able to incorporate health and safety concepts into work activities
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Access to a travel trailer would be considered an asset

Work Conditions

  • This position is likely to run until November 2018.
  • Candidates must be flexible to work on projects throughout central/northern Alberta
  • 6/1 shift rotation working 10-12 hours per day. Candidates must be flexible regarding their shift schedule
